Características:

This transnational call invites proposals for ambitious, innovative, multinational and multidisciplinary collaborative research projects with a view to promoting research aimed at the detection, measurement and understanding of early disease indicators related to neurodegenerative diseases, with potential for the development of new diagnostics or interventions.
Proposals submitted under this call may include, but are not limited to, the following types of research:

• Demonstrating the relationship between early neurodegenerative processes and physiological disturbances, e.g. by analyzing existing cohorts and longitudinal data.
• Applying cutting-edge methods or technologies to improve the detection of early symptoms, e.g. by establishing innovative biomarkers and increasing the sensitivity, specificity and/or the robustness of the readouts.
• Human or animal studies to decipher the neurodegeneration-derived processes causing early disease-specific signatures, e.g. on the neuropathological, cellular, synaptic, metabolic or inflammatory level.
• Using digital technologies to link recognizable symptoms to physiological changes associated to neurodegeneration, e.g. by combining clinical, neurophysiological, biochemical, imaging and psychological data.
• Relating prognostic signs of disease with real-life measurement of physiological disturbances using home-monitoring and/or wearable devices, including wireless sensors for patient monitoring.

Requisitos:

Investigadores que tengan un proyecto HDHL activo durante 2023 no podrán participar en esta convocatoria, excepto si participan como coordinadores de la solicitud. Las propuestas deberán ser presentadas por consorcios constituidos por un mínimo de tres entidades independientes entre sí pertenecientes a, al menos, tres países participantes diferentes de entre los participantes en el programa, siendo al menos dos de ellos miembros de la Unión Europea o países asociados.
El número máximo de socios en un consorcio es de seis. Durante la segunda fase de solicitud el consorcio se podrá ampliar hasta los siete socios, únicamente si se incluye uno de los países con menor representación (el listado de estos países será enviado al coordinador durante la segunda fases de solicitud).
No podrá haber más de dos entidades pertenecientes al mismo país dentro de un mismo consorcio, incluyendo socios que participen bajo su propia financiación.
