Institute

The Governing Council is the governing body responsible for the representation, management, and administration of the Health Research Institute (Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria) of the Hospital Clínico San Carlos.

Functions

• To appoint and dismiss the Institute's Governing Bodies.
• To appoint and dismiss the members of the Institute's External Scientific Committee.
• To appoint and dismiss the members of the Institute's Research Commission.
• To supervise, inspect, monitor, and guide the work of the Institute, establish general guidelines and strategic planning for the Institute.
• To approve the Institute's Strategic Plan and operational programmes, projects, and results.
• To approve the Institute's Quality Plan.
• To approve annually the budget, the relevant reports, the inventory, as well as the economic balance sheet and the annual accounts of the Institute.
• To supervise the Institute's management system, activities, and results.
• To approve the internal regulations of the Institute.
• To approve the proposal of the requirements and conditions for the incorporation of new researchers and research groups and agree on the entry of new members to the Institute.
• To approve the proposal on the appropriate distribution of the resources obtained as an Institute.
• To define policies for accreditation and the use of technology platforms shared by other groups, based on the corresponding integration agreements.
• To establish training and knowledge-sharing policies within the Institute.
• To change the headquarters of the Institute.
